TERRIFIC TESSELLATIONS
Room 1’s tessellation art work
Room 1 has been learning about tessellations and we all made our own ones. They look really cool, everybody did a different pattern and a different colour. They’re all very unique.
A tessellation is a template coped on a piece of paper over and over again to make a really awesome pattern then you can decorate it however you like but the simpler it is the better it looks
Everybody had lots of fun making them and they all look so colourful.

Check out the model we used on link below:

Q R Codes Term 4
QR Codes!
On Monday 15,th Room1 learnt how to do QR Codes with Mrs. Prescot our ICT teacher.
This is what a QR Code looks like this:
Handy Hints Answer
How muchmore do you pay to mail a first-class letter by U.S. Postal Service today than your great-grandfather would have on November 3, 1917?
Please have a go but don’t bother if you don’t have an ipad.
First you use the keywords and use them to find out the answer, then go on Google and type the keywords then your answer will probably come up.
Then if you have an ipad you can scan picture, (QR code) then you will get your answer. But you do need a special app to do this.

FRACTURED FAIRY TALES
Little Red Horse Rider
Once upon a time there was a little girl called Little Red Horse Rider. She lived with her mum in New York.
One day her Mum said she needed to move out. So Little Red Horse Rider set off to her boyfriend’s house in Kentucky. She didn’t have a car so she took a taxi. On the way she stopped for some lunch at Pop Eyes Chicken.
After about an hour she came out and there was a rat as big as her! She karate chopped it and got into the taxi. The rat started chasing her and it got to Little Red’s boyfriend’s house before Little Red.
When she got to her boyfriend’s house the rat was in the house in disguise, so Little Red thought it was her boyfriend. But really her boyfriend was in the closet.

Little Red Riding Hood
Once upon a time there lived a little girl named Little Red Riding Hood. She and her Mum and Dad lived in a lovely apartment near the forest. Little Red Riding Hood loved to plant flowers in her garden.
But one day her grandpa got very sick so Little Red Riding Hood had to bring some snacks to her grandpa’s house down in the middle of the forest.
So the next day Little Red Riding Hood got out of her lovely apartment and started going into the forest. Before she got out of her apartment, her Mum said to her: “Beware of the wolves!” But when Little Red Riding Hood was walking in the forest with her basket of snacks a big dog jumped out of a green bush and started chasing Little Red Riding Hood. Little Red Riding Hood ran as fast as she could and suddenly, a man that was hunting animals saw the dog chasing Little Red Riding Hood. BANG!!! The gun shot the dog. But Little Red Riding Hood and the man did not notice that a big brown wolf was looking behind a big tree.
When Little Red Riding Hood got to her grandpa’s little cottage. She knocked on the door and grandpa spoke. Little Red Riding Hood thought that grandpa’s voice was quiet weird and deep. But she didn’t mind. She just went into the cottage.
But when she saw grandpa, she asked: “What big ears you have.” Grandpa did not answer her. Then Little Red Riding Hood asked: “Where is your glasses grandpa?” But that was not grandpa. It was the big bad wolf. So he jumped out of bed and started chasing Little Red Riding Hood. Little Red Riding Hood ran to the kitchen and…PANG!!! The wolf was dead.
When the real grandpa heard that the wolf was dead outside. He jumped out of the toilet with happiness and a hug.
So Little Red Riding Hood took grandpa back to her apartment with her Mum and Dad for a sleepover for two weeks. They also took grandpa to town for medicine. When he had his medicine Little Red Riding Hood and her family played games at home and planted lots of flowers in their garden. They lived happier ever after.

Descriptive Buddy Writing TERM 3
We have been focusing on descriptive writing to paint a scene in the readers head. This is some of our first attempts from Room 1. Keep tuned for lots more.
Thunder
6/09/12
It was a pitch black night and lighting shot across the sky like a cheetah running for the last time. A flood was let loose and water was rushing down scooping up anything in its way. Hail started crashing down on the damp, wet, frosty grass.
Lightning
06/09/12
The storm was gloomy, very damp and wet. The wind, lightning, thunder, and rain were creating a deafening amount of noise and trouble for animals and people to deal with. Suddenly, dark clouds started covering the dull sky making it pitch black.
Fantastic Two
6/09/12
One stormy night lightning sparkled in the dark sky. The lightning shone as bright as the sun.
That day the sky wasdusky andthe clouds were gloomy. The sound effects became frightening. The wind was getting louder, it was a horrible place. The moon was bright but the clouds started to block out the eerie moonlight.
ELLIE
6/09/12
The puddles were rising higher and higher.
As the the rain poured down it started to flood the dull town.
The clouds were getting darker and the wind was getting louder, it was a horrible place to be.
The moon was very bright but the clouds made it dark.
It was so gloomy that you could not see. Suddenly a gigantic cloud rushed over you and it poured with rain.
